Sub Title:

Introduction to German culture, educational and political system, and historical challenges

Course Description:

The objective of this course is an introduction to the history, social, political and educational systems of Germany.
Emphasis will be placed on contemporary public issues such as the German reunification, Germany’s role in the international community and Germany’s aging society. By means of discussions, lectures, reading, writing and class presentations, students will reflect the German national character with that of contemporary Japanese.
