FUKASAKU, Kiichiro

Dr. Fukasaku graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Keio University in 1975 and obtained a D.Phil. in economics from the University of Sussex in 1991.  Prior to joining the OECD, he was a staff economist of the Economic Research and Analysis Unit of the GATT Secretariat (now the WTO) in Geneva (1983-90).  He has been working extensively in the following areas: intra-industry and intra-firm trade, trade and development, direct foreign investment, regional integration and co-operation and the "development dimension" of the WTO system.  Publications include: Fukasaku, Kiichiro and Federico Bonaglia, “Export Diversification in Low-Income Countries: An International Challenge after Doha”, OECD Development Centre Working Paper No. 209, June 2003; Fukasaku, Kiichiro and Federico Bonaglia, Trading Competitively: A Study of Trade Capacity Building in Sub-Saharan Africa, Development Centre Studies, OECD, 2002; Fukasaku, Kiichiro and Fukunari Kimura ; “Globalisation and Intra-firm Trade: Further Evidence” in Peter Lloyd et al. eds., The Frontiers of Intra-industry Trade Research, Macmillan, 2002.
