Professor, Faculty of Law, Ryukoku University

Professor Takamura graduated from the Faculty of Law at Kyoto University in 1989 and obtained M.A. in laws from Hitotsubashi University in 1993. She was Associate Professor in public international law at Shizuoka University and Ryukoku University (Japan) before becoming Professor at Ryukoku in 2006. She also studied at Graduate School of University of Paris II (Panthéon-Assas) and was Visiting Researcher at University of London. She specializes in public international law and international environmental law with a special focus on climate change. She is a member of Central Council of Environment, Ministry of Environment, and Committee of the Global Environmental Science and Technology, Council of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and the IUCN Commission on Environmental Law. Publications include: “Where Will Global Warming Negotiations Lead? The Prospect of International Climate Change Regime Beyond 2012”. She has also published in the Journal of international Law and Diplomacy, The Jurist, the International Business Law and Practice and The Hitotsubashi Review.
