In this course, students form groups according to their own interests and conduct fieldwork. The fieldwork could take the form of visits to factories, interviews, internships and participation in NGO activities. Students are expected to apply their skills in English and economic analysis in the choice and conduct of the group activity. Needless to say, such skills are necessary in writing up their experiences and findings in the form of a joint paper. Through this process, students are to learn the importance of teamwork. They will also train themselves to connect knowledge acquired in the classroom to real-world policy issues.
Evaluation is by class participation, progress reports and final papers.
